I think I might have found a job!!

Hey,

Sorry it's been so long since the last time I wrote, I've just been so busy! I think I found a job working for the Student Media Center at school. By school I mean, the University of Mississippi. If I get it I will be working in the advertising department as an Account Executive. I am really excited about it! So far, the staff that I will be working with seems great! Yesterday, I went out and about with one of the girls who is also an account executive. Her name is Cayce and she took me to see what a typical day on the job is like for her. She was really wonderful! We had a really good time and she did a great job of showing me how everything works. I now know that I want this job for sure. I believe this job would be really good experience and would look great on a resume for when I get out of college and begin my search for the perfect job. This is a really good job for my major, which is marketing communications and advertising with an emphasis in public relations, and would, without a doubt, teach me a lot. If I end up not getting this job I will be very disappointed! SmileyCentral.com

Anyways, I had a test today in journalism and I think it went okay. It was defiantly a lot harder than the last two tests. We only have one more week left in this class and then I will start August Intersession. Right now I am in a first aid, CPR class, but that could very well change.

Well I'm going to go but I will be writing again soon. Possibly today! SmileyCentral.com

Get Smart.

Jarrod and I recently went to see the new release, Get Smart. As we expected, we really enjoyed it. For starters I LOVE Anne Hathaway and Steve Carell movies. The Devil Wears Prada and 40 Year Old Virgin are two of my all-time favorites. Get Smart is the remaking of the satirical 1960s spy sitcom. Carell plays agent Maxwell Smart and Hathaway plays his partner, Agent 99. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson also co-stars in the film as Agent 23. This remake was really funny and full of cool gadgets and eye blowing stunts that allowed Hathaway and Carell to fight crime in very entertaining ways. Although, the comedic performance is not quite up there with Knocked Up, Superbad, or 40 Year Old Virgin, Get Smart is still worth the trip to the movie theaters. While you're there you'll defiantly get the full dose of laughter you were looking for. Overall, on a four scaled rating system I'd give it 3 STARS! Soo, next time you're in the mood for a movie, go see GET SMART! And after you do, LET US KNOW WHAT YOU THOUGHT ABOUT IT!

Till then,

Stephanie

Tuesday's Journalism Class Meeting

Hi,

So, so far today has been pretty good. I got up and went to class. I'm taking a journalism class this summer with Stephen Goforth. The course number and identification is journalism 101 He is a really good teacher and makes the class fun and interesting. Everyday we take a quiz and every Thursday of each week we take a major test. Today we studied radio and music. I believe I made a 100 on the quiz. Unfortunately, on our first test last Thursday I read one of the questions incorrectly and because of that I missed 3 questions that cost me 3 points a piece. Since I missed one more question that I actually did not know the answer to that was another 3 points resulting in a final test grade of 88/B+. If only I would have gone back and re-read that question with the 3 blanks I would have made a 97/A+ instead! Talk about pissed off! I was soo mad! Haha! But, what can you do?? Sometimes, those things just happen. Anyways, this Thursday I am determined to NOT let that happen again. If I miss a question on the test it will be because I did not know the answer. Not because I miss-read the question. I really want to make an A. I'll tell ya, it's real disappointing to ACCIDENTLY miss a question that results in a grade lower than the actual grade you deserve.

My major is marketing communications and broadcasting with an emphasis in public relations. If anyone has any info about the kind of jobs I can do this degree I would appreciate it. I have some kind of idea the career paths available for this kind of degree choice, but my ideas are kind of vague. More specific info and job suggestions would be quite helpful to me!

Thanks a lot and hope to hear from someone soon!

Stephanie

Web of Evil

Hi,

I got back home late last night from Tupelo. Jarrod and I went home to see our parents. We had a good time. We cooked out with each of our families and just hung out and stuff. Jarrod and I finally finished our book Web of Evil by J.A. Jance late Saturday night. It was actually more like early Sunday morning. The book over all was pretty good. It defiantly got better towards the end, but I must confess, I was glad when it was finally over. The girl, Ali in the book did some things that just really got under my skin and pissed me off. She could be very irritating! In the book Ali was wrongly accused of killing her husband. She had this attitude at first that as like, well I didn't do anything wrong and I know that so nothing is going to happen to me. I don't know, it was just like, GAH-LEE GIRL, YOU'RE AN IDIOT! Haha! Although, I am glad that I went on an finished the book because it did get better and Ali did FINALLY stop acting like a naive dumb ass. So, now that we finished Web of Evil we began Lincoln Lawyer by Michael Connelly. So far, this book is GREAT! When listening to a book on CD the individual who is reading the book makes all the difference. There have been times when I couldn't stand the voice of the reader so much that I ended up switching to another book. The guy who is reading this book is really good and does all the voices of the characters very well. I have a really good feeling about this book.

Well I need to go, but will be posting again soon!

Steph

P.S. If anyone has any comments regarding good books or good authors I would love to hear from you!
